We are thrilled to invite all St. Ignatius Women's Rowing alumni back to the boathouse on Saturday, March 22, for a memorable morning celebrating our program's legacy, honoring our seniors, and strengthening the bond between past and present SI rowers. Alum Day is an opportunity to reconnect with former teammates and coaches, meet current athletes, and see firsthand how the program has evolved. Whether you've stayed closely connected to the team or haven't returned to the boathouse in years, we encourage you to join us for a fun and meaningful morning.
What to Expect:
Welcome Gathering: Start the morning with coffee, bagels, and time to catch up with old friends and meet our current athletes at 10:30 am.
Launch Rides for Families: If you bring your family, kids, or friends, they are welcome to hop in a coaches' launch for a ride around the lake to watch the action up close!
Gear Exchange: Bring clean, barely used SI training gear (such as quarter-zips) to donate to current athletes. The team trains in our school colors daily, and this is a great way to pass along team spirit while supporting our rowers.
Mentorship & Networking: Alumnae are essential in mentoring current athletes—not just in rowing, but in college selection, career advice, and life beyond SI. We want to continue strengthening these connections and building a support network for our rowers.
Meet the New Coaching Staff: All of our current coaches are SI Women's Rowing alumni! This is an excellent opportunity to meet them and learn more about the team's direction.
Parking Reminder: If you plan to attend, please remember to park in designated parking spots to ensure we respect the space available at the lake.
Senior Day: Honoring Our "Day Ones"
This year, Senior Day will be held during Alum Day in a special celebration recognizing our 10 senior rowers. These athletes hold a special place in our hearts—they were the first freshman class to row under our current coaching staff after the program resumed post-COVID. For all but two, they have been four-year athletes, an incredible achievement in a sport as demanding as rowing. Athletic Director John Mulkerrins will attend to speak and honor our seniors for their dedication and leadership.
Class Races: Alum vs. Current Rowers!
One of Alum Day's most exciting and fun traditions is the Class Races. Each class (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors) will race against one another in a spirited, fun-filled competition down the lake. Rowers from each class will be dressed in fun-themed costumes, adding to the lighthearted energy of the day. Alumni are invited to race against our current athletes! Hop in a boat and relive the thrill of an SI race!

Can’t Make Alum Day? Stay Connected & Support Us!
We understand that not everyone will be able to attend Alumni Day, but there are still ways to stay connected and support SI Women’s Rowing. We continue to host the West Coast Scholastic Championships on Lake Merced on Sunday, April 13, and we would love your help in making this a successful event! We are looking for alumni to serve as dock masters and regatta leads —a role that is perfect for former rowers since you already have experience with launching boats for races.

Please consider giving us a hand on race day and staying engaged with the SI rowing community. Your involvement—whether at Alum Day, WCSC, or beyond—helps keep our program strong and growing. Alum Day and Senior Day are more than just events—they are a testament to the lifelong bonds built through SI Women's Rowing. Our alumni are vital to our program, and we want to build stronger connections between past and present rowers.
So please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 22, and help spread the word! We would love to see as many alumni as possible join us at the boathouse for a morning of celebration, competition, and camaraderie.
We hope to see you at the lake!
